Ærin G.

Ærin is an active composer, arranger, percussionist, vocalist, and and music educator in the greater Houston area. He regularly composes and produces programs for pageantry arts (marching band, winter percussion, winter color guard) programs all over the country. Ærin holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in music composition and theory from Sam Houston State University. He studied under Drs. Kyle Kindred and Brian Herrington. He was the recipient of the Fisher Tull Student Composition award in 2019 for his percussion trio Shakr Hmn.

Ærin has recorded drum set, percussion, and vocals for several rock and country records. Mostly recently, John recorded Make it Through with the band Zero Detail from Houston. Other recording credits include Let ‘Er Buck by Jack Nelson and The Joe Burlison’s Uptown Jazz Christmas album from 2017.

Ærin is a fierce advocate for equity, equality, and inclusivity especially in the classroom.
