Austin L.

Austin holds a Masters degree in Performance (Jazz Concentration) in Guitar from Texas State University, where he assistant directed Jazz Lab Band and Guitar Seminar under Arthur Latin. 
Austin's formal education background includes 6-12 grade concert and marching percussion and drum set. After graduating high school, he performed abroad during summer as a concert percussionist with the Star of Texas Ambassadors of Music program throughout Europe. Austin's higher education included piano fundamentals and jazz piano and incorporates visualizing music theory from the piano in lessons for all instruments. 

As part of the Texas State University Jazz Ensemble, he had the chance to share the stage with artists like Tito Carrillo, Arthur Latin, Marshall Gilkes, Israe Butler, Gregg Field, Jay Leach, Robert Boone Jr., Aaron Lack, and open for the Duke Ellington Orchestra. He appeared in PBS' National TV Documentary Wham Re-Bop-Boom-Bam: The Swing Jazz of Eddie Durham and performed yearly in the Eddie Durham Jazz Festival. He contributed to the Butch Miles Legacy Archive to honor the great Count Basie drummer and former Texas State University instructor. 

As a guitarist, Austin has had the opportunity to perform and record with various artists including Free Radicals and Autumn Walker. 

In the electronic music sphere he has collaborated with artists like Angel Marcloid, AURAGRAPH, Nameless Warning, and Cyber Surfer 3D.

He is a member of the creative collective Iron Waffle Media where he contributes to short films, music videos, social media content, and on-set assistance.
