All the way from the islands of Trinidad and Tobago, in the Caribbean, now settled in Texas, Alex, complete with violin in hand both as a soloist and section leader. Alex has the lead performances as a student at the Worrel’s School of Music for 8 years and eventually teaching beginner violin students for 2 years. Among this learning period, Alex began playing guitar and electric bass for jazz and folk ensembles in secondary school.
Alex has performed as part of the first violins with the National Philharmonic of Trinidad and Tobago for several events over the period of a year. Classical symphonies from Mozart, Beethoven and modern symphony premiers with conductor Dr. Roger Henry are among some of the orchestral works in Alex’s repertoire as well as chamber performances with the University of the West Indies ranging from Bach suites to quartets from the likes of Dvorak and tangos from Astor Piazzola.
Participating in competitions with the National Music Festival of the Caribbean, becoming the Inter-Regional Champion of 2015 and Earning an Associate Degree in music education with the University of the West Indies, Alex has worked on advanced pedagogy, performance direction and music teaching methodology before moving to the USA in 2022 to continue the study of strings and the art of teaching music.
With several academic performances to accompany his work, Alex is currently studying classical violin repertoire at Lone Star College Cy-Fair. Looking forward to giving the same energy and passion to aspiring musicians along with performing in times to come.
