Jenna Y.
A multi-hyphenated creative from central New Jersey, Jenna grew up on classic rock, pop, soul, and Barbara Streisand, thanks to the great taste of her father. Finding her way to New York City, she graduated from Pace University with a BFA in Musical Theatre and spent time doing theatre in the ‘Big Apple’. A determined and dedicated advocate, singer, and songwriter, Jenna moved to Katy to dedicate more of her time to teaching and inspiring others while making her own original music.
During her time at school, Jenna spent her years onstage and off, both performing with and coaching peers and underclassmen on their musical theatre performance technique. A director, choreographer, writer, and performer, Jenna has an affinity with the depth and complexity that musical theatre storytelling calls for and loves watching it come to life.
Passionate about the spirit of live music, Jenna’s teaching strategy focuses on the reason to sing, just as much as the technique. Every song is a story. A vocally motivated piece is worlds more magical than a great sounding singer with no direction. Balance is the key. Great singers can navigate their stories with all the different colors of their instrument. Jenna’s goal is to help growing artists master their instrument and unlock the power to navigate any song. She is here to aid her artists to discover and nurture their individual sound, all while maintaining and harnessing the joy that started it all in the first place.
