Mark D.
Music has always been my passion from an early age. I grew up in a musical family. I’m originally from upstate New York, but have lived in northern and southern Idaho, Northern California. My father was an ordained pastor, thus the reason for the many moves. I began piano lessons at the age of eight, but have always been in choirs throughout my life. Upon high school graduation, I moved to Fresno, California to attend Fresno Pacific University to complete my B.A., in Humanities (with a music emphasis), Drama Communications & Biblical Studies. While there, it gave me the opportunity to travel with the choir touring five European countries. Desiring to teach college, I completed my M.A, in vocal performance from Fresno State University. I was also privileged to teach the basic Fundamentals of Music following graduation. I’ve been a member of Praise and Worship teams in a number of churches I’ve lived. I lived in Nashville, TN, working in the music industry for a number of years giving me the opportunity to be one of the backup vocalists for a local artist. Music is a wonderful tool to enhance one's academic enrichment. It brings discipline, instruction, enjoyment and stirs one's emotions.
